Production Capabilities

Modern machinery production is a multistage process requiring qualified specialists in different fields and specialised equipment. The two key conditions for efficient production are cost control and quality control at every stage of manufacturing.

MDC provides one-source solutions, with both tasks managed within a single technological process. The design office within the company makes it possible to deliver a complete cycle — from concept development to custom production.

MDC assembly production

01 · MAIN PRODUCTION UNIT

Assembly Production

The assembly production unit is a key production division of MDC. Its two production units are located in separate workshops. It performs all types of assembly work, including installation, drilling, threading, fitting and mechanical operations.

First Workshop

The first workshop specialises in large-sized products such as modular electric-locomotive cabs and diesel-locomotive cabs. Serial production of EP1M, E5K and 2EL5 modular electric-locomotive cabs was established here, together with pilot batches of VL11 and 2ES4K electric-locomotive cabs and TEP150 diesel-locomotive cabs.

Second Workshop

The second workshop assembles sanitary modules for passenger coaches, driver control desks, window units, other industrial products and selected consumer products.

Key Features of Assembly Production

  • Qualified craftsmen meeting high industry standards.
  • Deep experience in railway projects with demanding requirements and high responsibility.
  • Incoming-component inspection, quality monitoring throughout the production cycle and final-product inspection.
  • Flexibility in performing diversified tasks and projects.

02 · COMPOSITE PRODUCTS

FRP Products

MDC offers a complete cycle for fibre-reinforced polymer products, including design, adaptation of customer documentation, prototyping and mould production, manufacturing, finishing and assembly.

Our capabilities include large products of complex geometry, including products made with fire-retardant resins. The product range covers locomotive-cab shells, cladding panels, interior components, furniture, floor trays, doors, tanks and boxes.

Technological Capabilities

  • large one-piece products such as cab shells, floor trays and wall panels;
  • complex shapes and mould manufacture using a 3D milling machine;
  • surface texturing from deep matt to high gloss;
  • products with two finished face surfaces;
  • FRP panels and accessories with built-in heating elements;
  • products in RAL or NCS colour palettes;
  • sealed, acid- and alkali-resistant containers and two-layer heat-insulated tanks;
  • moulding fasteners, decorative accessories and wear-resistant elements into the face surface.
MDC electrical installation and testing

03 · ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

Electrical Systems

The electrical workshop installs heating systems on wall and floor panels made of FRP and thermoformed plastics, assembles lighting systems for rolling stock and electrical control units, and performs electrical installation in electric-locomotive cabs and passenger coaches.

The scope also includes cable networks, controls and electrical equipment installation, connection checks and functional testing of installed systems.

04 · WELDING AND METALWORK

Metal Structures

The workshop provides welding, cutting, drilling and bending operations, as well as all types of painting except powder coating.

Capabilities include different types of metal structures, including large structures requiring programmed cutting and bending equipment, together with frames, supporting structures, inserts and assembly units.

05 · CONTROL AT EVERY STAGE

Quality Control

Incoming component inspection, checks during assembly and functional testing of finished products are integral parts of the MDC production process.

FROM CONCEPT TO FINISHED PRODUCT

One Engineering and Production Cycle

The MDC design office and production units work as one team, shortening the path from specification to finished product and maintaining quality control throughout the process.
